For the past three years, Dr. Chandra Taylor Smith has managed the national operational support and program development for Audubon’s unparalleled nationwide network of 42 nature Centers and more than 460 local Chapters as well as Audubon’s education department and flagship corporate partnership, Toyota TogetherGreen. With a background in education policy and an academic concentration in ecological theology, Chandra brings to Audubon’s extensive network of environmental learning opportunities her passion and commitment to education and her life-long interest in the intersections of the cultural, spiritual, and physical health dimensions of human connections with nature.

Charles (Chas) Lopez is currently the Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion, at Earthjustice. Lopez is  part of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to Earthjustice President Trip Van Noppen.

Lopez previously served as interim Chief Diversity Officer and Executive Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion for Portland State University, where he provided programmatic leadership to improve the experience of all students, faculty and staff, as well as ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations and university policies to provide a welcoming and inclusive learning and work environment.

Emily Reyna is the Director of Diversity for Environmental Defense Fund. In this capacity she oversees the implementation of EDF’s diversity strategic plan and provides intellectual leadership and direction on internal and external diversity and inclusion initiatives. These initiatives include, among others, integrating diversity and inclusion internally through training, recruiting, and retention; and externally cultivating new relationships that support program strategic goals.
