OUR MISSION

The foundation’s work will be focused on supporting projects and/or organizations that address the impact of climate change on human and wildlife communities and on fostering related educational initiatives.

The Mize Family Foundation (MFF) is a small US-based foundation focused on three primary issues of interest affected by climate change and its impact on human and wildlife communities:

Youth – We are interested in work focused on strengthening youth understanding about and leadership in addressing climate change.

Environmental justice and advocacy – Communities are increasingly challenged by finding effective ways to adapt to rapidly-changing climate and weather patterns. We are interested in organizations utilizing innovative methods to address this issue.

Communications and new media – An informed public is an empowered public. We are interested in organizations working in traditional and new media that are implementing strategies to communicate meaningfully to the American public about climate change.

MFF believes that the intersection of these three areas provides us distinctive opportunities to support compelling projects and organizations that can make an impact on the broad issue of climate change.

In addition to the primary areas of interest noted above, MFF also has an exploratory program focused on central sub-Saharan Africa.
